Sir Dancelot

This is my knight in shining blue armor. His name is Sir Dancelot because, well, he loves to dance a lot. He may be small but he knows how to Paso Doble through battle, Tango with the enemy, and waltz away with the fair maiden. He loves braving the outdoors! He fights evil in gloomy dungeons.

I think Garbina is smitten with this cute little dancer!

Chicks!

A few days ago Mrs. Hawkins gave us six chicks (ours got eaten). Because my camera was broken I haven't put on pictures, but now I can. The poor chicks were petrified when I brought it to my room and put it in my plant. Sorry if the pictures aren't good, the chicks wouldn't stop moving!

Morbid!

When I finished my test yesterday a hour early, I sat in the back room in the quonset hut. Very bored, I wrote a poem. It's kinda morbid, but I thought I might "liven" up your day with posting it.

I’m caught, stuck, caged, kept,
hidden in this cage I wept.
Waiting to become set free,
but till then, I’ll sit and be,
in bleak darkness, inhumane,
not enough to sustain.

A ring by any other name.

I really could waste my life on etsy if I wanted to, so I have to be careful how long I spend drooling over other peoples creations. Well, I'm not much of a jewelry person, but on the home page where they show you stuff, they showed a cool ring there, and I thought I would look at some others and found some to be amazingly different. Here are my finds. (Oh, most of these rings are in the $100 dollar range, just a heads up)
Yes, that's a log ring, to cool to be true. That clock really works! (I'm not sure how you tell time on it though)Some guys made this by hand, kinda wild. Yes, that is real grass growing out of that ring! This is an Egyptian style ring, hand made too!

Crochet Tree

I got this picture in an e-mail. I thought it was really creative. I guess some people crocheted around a tree, it goes way up into the branches. It must have taken a really long time. It looks like something out of Dr. Suess.

Adjudication

Today we had our singing adjudication. Laurel, Jillian, Hannah, and I did a quartet. And Hannah, Laurel and I did solos. I don't know our scores yet, but I think we all did good. It was a long morning though. Our quartet was at 10:00 and Laurel's solo (she went first) was at 12:15 and Hannah's (who was last) was at 1:15 (Nicole and Becky were after me, I was after Laurel). Overall I think it is a great experience, even though it is tiring and stressful, it's somewhat fun.

Rich

On Sunday morning at 7:30 a.m. Rich (my brother) left for Florida. He is getting back together with his ex-wife Sara. He has gotten a lot of job interviews for a chef but he has to be down there to actually get a job. I'll miss him. I haven't not had an older brother living with us for over 3 years now. It will feel empty in our house for a while.

Me, Rich, James, Luke, and Stacia.

Fortune Cookies!

Yesterday Luke and I made fortune cookies! They were real simple, and fun to put fortunes in. They tasted sort of sugar cookieish but really good. Oh, and this is my 101st post!

Luke

How many boys does it take it change a lightbulb?... Too many, but it only takes one to shovel off the snow on the roof of the play structure, standing on icy monkey bars, with bare feet.

Neon!

I found this picture a while back and Hannah said I should put it on my blog. I can't say I'm for neon green, but it the hat looks so soft.

Skirts!

I've been making and remaking some skirts lately for summer. I can't wait to wear them.

This is a denim skirt I made about a week ago. It has a fly zipper and pockets (I love pockets)It has a yoke and belt loops. The pockets and pleats. The Japanese fabric I used for the bottom and binding. The Takahashis sent it up for me.

My newest skirt. It had a side zipper and is made with some calico I had. It's not done though, I'm going to put some tan ric rac around the bottom. The yoke and the crochet belt I made awhile back. The calico.I found this mini skirt at a thrift store. I pleated some Ty-dye polka dot fabric to sew on it. The back.I love Ty-dye and polka dots!I found this skirt at the thrift store too. It wasn't that short but I found this really cute fabric to make it just right.I really liked the buttons. The brown polka dot fabric (again I really like polka dots!)

That's all for now.

The Art of Forks

Well, I wanted to make a pictorial book, but Rich said no one would buy it. So I made a movie instead. Enjoy!

Piano

Here is a movie Luke and I made a few day ago. It has no moral and no real pint but I still hope you enjoy it. It is based on a late 1920s silent movie. Luke is a piano player who gets fired because his music is to modern.

Half Way!

Today I realized I'm half way done with German! Finally. My mom is making me finish it even though I really don't want to. I started learning German when Hannah was so we both got the Rosetta Stone German. It's supposed to be a one year program but I've been doing it for 2 years now, so.... But like I already said I'M HALF WAY DONE!

The Frizz

On Saturday I got over 6 inches cut of my hair. It's so nice, much lighter. Last night I wanted to see how puffy I could get it if I brushed it. It was so funny I looked like I stuck my finger in a light socket, It was literally way past my shoulders. Today I really wanted yams for lunch so I heated them up with 2 marshmellows and a pear. Well, the yams tasted great but the pear was gross, take my advise and never put a pear in with your yams, peaches taste great though and it looked really yummy.
