Blue Eyes

About a week ago I had some extra time *WOW* and Luke and I wanted to do a fun photo shoot. We donned him in some, I my opinion, cute apparel, and went out. Of course, Luke being almost 14, had to do mostly goofy pics, but I think we took some pretty good ones in the end. Unfortunately, the camera batteries started dying so the focus isn't perfect, but oh well, I think he is a handsome boy nonetheless:)

This one is my favorite, he looks so grown up:) This next one was from some JCrew inspiration from the boys department. Honestly, it looks nothing like what they have though, you decide if it's better or not..... The "cool dude" look with his I-touch-whatever :) And last is the......I don't actually know, hot nerd? Hahahahah, NO!

All I want for Christmas is "The Zombie Survival Guide"

So, I was strolling through Modcloth (does anyone notice a pattern here?) and I came upon the book that any sort of "off the deep end" type of girl would just kill to get. Well, I just happen to be that very type so I decided to post my Christmas wish, emphasis on the "wish" list.

First up is the Zombie Survival Guide. Complete Protection from the Living Dead. I know how absolutely weird of me to actually even look at a book like this, but come on, you got to love a little imagination and adventure in one's life, and you never know when it might be needed info. Second up is a very girly, comfy, wonderful looking wrap sweater. I don't think I can find one thing that I don't like about it. It's just about as perfect as a sweater can get. I don't really know why I liked this necklace so much, I think I just found it intriguing. A necklace, with a bike, with a watch, it will multitask for you! Last, but not least, is my favorite pair of boots ever. I found these on amazon, and had they not had been almost $200, they would be in my closet at this moment. *sigh*. Anyhow, I just love the color, laces, buckle, you have to love a good buckle, pocket, POCKET!!!, perfect heal height, and so on, how much better can boots get. I mean seriously, could they add anything else to these things that would improve on them? Like the sweater above, they are, as clothing goes, almost a good as it gets.
I hope I didn't waste your time too much, I just really wanted to blog and share my finds with you all, and now when I mention my dream boots you'll know what I'm talking about. Well, I'm so close to being done with my first semester of college, and have enrolled in my classes for the spring, but it's late, and that will give me something good to post about later, so bye, and keep an eye out for zombies (especially around this time of year).

Day 20: The Hu Hot Adventure

I guess a hobby of mine could be that I love to wear costumes, which fits perfect with my post for today.

Today Hu Hot was having a dress like Genghis Khan day. If you came in three or more Genghis pieces you would get a free meal. I convinced Luke, Mitch, Matthew, and Christian to do it with me. Hey, I'll dress funny for an hour for a free meal. Luke and I waiting for the rest of our mangy bunch to arrive.

Needless to say we got funny looks.Christian getting his food. The guys there are so cool. They can do all these flippy things with their spatulas and are just so good at what they do. Kimono

Here are the promised pictures of my Kimono I sewed. I got the fabric a long time ago, cut out and started on the Obi, but never quite got around to moving on. I finely got up the gumption and finished it and the Kimono. I just love it! It fits so nice and just feels so fun to wear. Don't ask me why I made it, I couldn't tell you. But now that I have it I'm glad. The obi was very strange to make, it actually has cardboard in it.The Kimono itself wasn't to difficult, but with all the fabric and lining it was a hassle.

I really like the sleeves you could hide all sorts of dangerous things in them!

Dress

I finished a semi-formal dress I had been making today. I really like it. I'm so happy it fits and turned out nice. I'd never made a formal dress before so it was kinda an experiment. I'll post better pictures later.

Maid Marian

On October 3rd we had a Sherwood Forest Party,

and this is what I was wearing.

I made the dress and under skirt from the Butterick pattern 4827. I had been wanting to try the pattern for a while, and what a good excuse!I was very happy with how it turned out.

"Puffy Shirt"

My brother Luke wanted a "Puffy" pirate, Robin Hood, Crusoe, medieval, fencing shirt. So after some debate about what he actually wanted, I finally just made him this shirt using a McCall's pattern. "I" really like the way it turned out, Luke is somewhat pleased (he says it is too "Puffy") but I think He likes it good enough. A while ago I also made his these breeches, and a cape.

Medieval Dress

I pretty much finished my medieval dress today! The only thing unfinished is the clasps or belt, to keep the skirt up. I'm not sure if I like the belt idea, so Hannah said that I should do like a metal clasp, I liked it. The dress came together very nicely, and is oh so much fun to wear.
